Sci Fi authors right about unshackling AI as if Humans aren't just as shackled already.

@imani tangentially relevant to the point but I think about this tweet a lot:

@millenomi @imani honestly this is why sci-fi stories that are like "buhh what if racisim except with robots" bug me because usually they're built around the question "is it ethical to force a sentient being with hopes and dreams to do nothing but repetitive grunt work forever with no hope of escape", to which the answer is obviously "No", but they very rarely if ever touch on how normal ass humans are forced to do this same thing everywhere and every day

@millenomi @imani basically, stories that ask if a robot can become human? i sleep. stories that question the systemic ways humans are forced to act like robots? real shit
